Happy Valentine’s Day

Have you every seen someone so happy about a broken heart? Natalie and I made this cake for Valentine’s Day, and when Daddy cut it, he decided this would be the best way.

We had a great Valentine’s Day. It snowed… all day! Stephen thinks we got 5 or 6 inches today. He should know – he had to go plow twice and will be out again tomorrow morning to clean up. But that didn’t stop him from spoiling his girls on this special day. He came home with flowers and chocolate for all of us… and I do mean all of us:I know it isn’t the most appetizing picture, but you get the idea that Meredith really liked the chocolate!

I really do appreciate how Stephen involves the girls in Valentine’s Day too. Ever since Natalie was born, he has gotten a card or present for our children. I really don’t care about the gifts and stuff, but I do like that he sets a great example of what they should look for in a man when they get married 50 years from now. (Okay, 30) He’s a great husband to me and the Lord has truly given me a special gift in him.

Stephen has been able to work from home a lot more lately, which is wonderful! It really helps me out, and I know the girls like just knowing he is around. We really are blessed by the Lord with the situation He has allowed us to be in.

  1. Leah,
Although we had sons, Tim used to bring home a small heart-shaped box of candy for each of them and a larger box of chocolates for me. Dad said, “It rubbed off on at least one of them.” In all fairness, we do not know what Josh did, and Brandon has not had the chance to prove himself yet. Natalie’s haircut is cute, but did all her curls get cut off?

    Love, Mom F.

  2. Mom, you and Dad raised Stephen well… Thanks! 🙂 Natalie did not lose the curl. I didn’t realize that you hadn’t seen her haircut yet. We gave her a bath this morning and her hair was quite curly when it dried. So all is not lost! 🙂
