Sophia Martha Franklin

I have said it before and I will say it again…. God’s Timing Is Perfect! Stephen and the girls arrived home safely on Tuesday evening. At midnight, my water broke. Stephen and I rushed to the hospital half an hour away and at 1:34 am Sophia Martha was born!

Sophia’s name means “wisdom”, and while there are many different ways people view wisdom, Stephen and I are praying that Sophie will love and cling to godly wisdom as she grows up into adulthood. (Which I don’t want to think about right now) Her middle name is after Stephen’s Grandma Franklin, who is a beautiful example of selflessness and godliness.

Sophie is 7lbs. 6.5oz and 19.5 inches long. She is a little peanut. We can’t decide if she has strawberry blond or brown hair, but she has lots of it. She has caught on to feeding right away and is very alert when she is awake. My pediatrician said that most newborns are not all that cute, but that she is really cute already. I agree. 🙂

Natalie has already taken to Sophia, always wanting to hold her and take care of her. Meredith just points and grunts happily. (She’s more interested in seeing what the hospital brought mommy to eat.) We are thrilled to see how the Lord has blessed our family. Pray with us while we go through some adjustments with Sophie’s arrival.

  1. I remember when Stephen was born back in 1978 – I was still putting on the scrubs when he “popped” out – less than 20 minutes after we got to the hospital. I almost missed the little fellow being born!

She looks like a little doll!
