I was saying yesterday how easy it is to say thank you to others, and yet it is a dying manner. So the conclusion is we need to say it more often. To others, to God Himself.
But I want to take it up a notch today… What about doing gratitude? I know, I know, we are all busy. I have four kids, homeschool, teach a group of 10 girls one night a week, try to keep up a homeschool network, help my husband when he needs it, and take care of house and home. I get it.
I have an idea though. Put aside one afternoon. Make a list of all the people you are thankful for, that bless you on a regular basis. I know, the list might get long. Print
We often give gifts at Christmas to these people, but why not do it at Thanksgiving time? We give the a gift because we are thankful for them, so why not do it at the appropriate holiday? If you can’t make a gift, give them a Christmas trinket now… They will have it to enjoy the entire Christmas season!
Let us not only say thanks, but show it too. Sometimes an action says more than words ever can.
Lets see…. On Day 3 I am thankful for God’s presence. He is with us. He will not leave us or forsake us. And even when it seems like He is not there, or that we are in a place He cannot possibly be… He is still there! Saints through the centuries have that singular testimony, whether in a fruitful ministry or being burned at the stake. We can endure because God is with us wherever we are.
